The City of Soledad’s Water Quality Control Division is responsible for providing safe, reliable drinking water to the community. This includes the operation and maintenance of wells, storage facilities, and the distribution system that delivers water to homes, businesses, and public facilities.

Water Plant Operations

The Water Plant Operations team manages the infrastructure and daily activities required to procure, treat, and deliver drinking water that meets all state and federal standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operation and maintenance of the City’s water wells, pumps, storage tanks, and distribution system
  • Maintenance and repair of infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable water delivery
  • Water quality monitoring and testing to protect public health
  • Hydrant maintenance and hydrant meter management
  • Water service meter turn-ons, turn-offs, and shut-offs
  • Meter reading for utility billing

Water Quality & Public Health

Protecting water quality is a top priority. The City conducts routine monitoring and testing to ensure drinking water meets all regulatory requirements.

Program efforts include:

  • Ongoing water quality sampling and analysis
  • Infrastructure maintenance to protect the system
  • Illicit discharge prevention
  • Public education on water use, conservation, and safety

Consumer Confidence Report (CCR)

The City of Soledad’s Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), provides important information about the quality of your drinking water.

This report is prepared in accordance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and is provided annually to customers as part of the public’s right to know.

The CCR includes:

  • Detected contaminants in the drinking water
  • Compliance with drinking water standards
  • Health information related to any regulatory violations

The report is mailed to customers each year.
